Rotung is located in East Siang District of Arunachal Pradesh. It is around 45 km north of Pasighat. Pangin, a major town and tourist spot, is located nearby.

Kekar Monying, a cliff with historical importance, lies nearby. It is also an ideal base camp for rafting in the Siang River.
