Roop Chaturdashi




Roop Chaturdashi is the second day of Diwali celebrated in the northern parts of the country. Roop Chaturdashi, known as Soundarya Siddhi Diwas, is the day wherein it is believed that one can perform meditation for beauty and magnetism.

Rituals performed on this day lay stress on the importance of keeping fit. Traditional early baths with oil and ‘Uptan’ or paste of gram flour and fragrant powders are a must on this day. Businessmen on Roop Chaturdashi perform puja for the expansion of their business.

Roop Chaturdashi is celebrated as a day of rejoicing and bursting of firecrackers. Roop Chaturdashi is celebrated as Naraka Chaturdashi in the southern parts of India.
