Rongkhim Shawl

Rongkhim is a warrior shawl belonging to the Yimchunger tribe of Nagaland. This shawl denotes the valor of the wearer. It is meant to be worn by a warrior and not by any ordinary souls.

In the olden days, only the person who had beheaded an enemy in the battle had the right to wear this shawl. According to local folklore, an ordinary person wearing this shawl is bound to die of leprosy. This shawl features patterns made in red color, which is symbolic to blood of the enemy.
