Ringed Turtle Dove is about 11 inches long, with a wingspan of about 20 inches. It is pale-colored with a thin black collar around the back of the neck. The upper parts are grayish, while the head is pale buff. With white corners the tail is long and square-ended.
The bird is monogamous and breeds throughout the spring and summer. Its nest is a thin platform of twigs in a tree, bush or on a building. It feeds on seeds, berries.
