Red-winged Parrot (Aprosmictus erythropterus) can be characterized by its red wings that stand out from a green body. The male is bright green with a blue lower back and rump, a yellow tip tail, red wings, orange iris and bill, and gray feet. The female has a yellowish green body, red with pink trimmings on the wings, dark iris, and its rump and lower back are pale blue.
The bird usually feeds by hanging upside down on a branch and picking on seeds from eucalypts, acacias and hop bushes.
