Red-breasted Flycatcher




Red-breasted Flycatcher (Fidecula parva) is a small bird with a gray head and orange throat. It is brown above and white below. The bill is black and pointed.

It feeds on insects and caterpillars. The bird prefers deciduous woodlands, mainly near water. Usually an open nest is constructed in a tree hole and four to seven eggs are laid.

Red-breasted Flycatcher can be seen in the Narendrapur Wildlife Sanctuary, West Bengal.
