Ravi Shastri




Ravishankar Jayadritha Shastri was born in Mumbai on 27th May 1962. In his career, he was the glamour boy of Indian cricket. He was a defensive batsman who never let the Indian team down, and was a utility cricketer for the ODIs. He equaled Sir Gary Sober’s world record of six sixes in one over, during a Ranji Trophy game in 1985. The same year he won accolades and was called Champion of Champions after India won the Benson and Hedges Trophy against Australia under the captaincy of Sunil Gavasker. Ravi Shastri captained India in only one test, and it led to a victory against the West Indies in 1987-88. Ravi Shastri is at present a very popular TV commentator of cricket.
