Ravai Upma is a hearty breakfast-type food eaten mainly in south India. It is perhaps the most common breakfast dish in South India apart from Idli. It consists of roasted semolina and sauteed spices, with added vegetables and nuts. It is nourishing owing to the presence of various vegetables such as carrots and green peas. This dish becomes tastier when it is topped with coconut scrapings. It goes well with ketchup and papad.
