Ramshila Hill




Ramshila Hill is situated 5 km from Vishnupaada Temple in Gaya. One of the most sacred hills in Gaya District, with considerable antiquity, the hill is dotted with numerous stone sculptors. It is closely associated with Lord Ram and takes its name after him.

Ramesvara or Patalesvara temple located on the hill attracts scores of devotes. 'Pindas' are offered by Hindu devotees during pitripaksha for their ancestors here. It is believed that Lord Ram had offered 'pinda' on the hill. There is also a temple dedicated to Lord Ram, Sita and Hanuman. Pretshila Hill, another sacred hill, is nearby.
