Rajab is the seventh month of the Islamic calendar. It is also called Rajab al Fard. Rajab is lexically defined as ‘to respect’. This month is one among the four sacred months in
Islam. Belief is that the Holy Prophet ascended to Heaven on the 27th of Rajab (Miraaj).
The Urs Festival of the Dargah Sharif in Ajmer falls on the first six days of Rajab.
