Putrajivak (Putranjiva roxburghi) is a medium sized evergreen tree with drooping branches found throughout India. The name Putranjeeva means 'life of the child' in
Sanskrit.
The leaf and fruit have medicinal importance. It is used to cure fever, rheumatism and liver infections. The bony nuts are used in rosaries.
