Puthettu Sarppakkavu




Puthettu Sarppakkavu, an age old Kavu, is located at Chandakadavu in Kottayam District, Kerala. Shri Nagaraja and Nagayakshi Amma are the main deities worshipped here. This sacred grove has a history of many centuries, and housed deities which were worshipped by the ancestors of the Puthettu family. The temple is also famous for the traditional ritual art form, Thiyyattu which is a rare ritual art. The Kavu is close to the KSRTC Bus Station, at Chandakadavu, Kottayam. Cochin International Airport is 92 km from Kottayam. Kottayam Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
