Purple Fleabane

Purple Fleabane is a common weed that grows throughout India. The tree has slender, grooved and ribbed shoot and elliptic and membranous leaves (eaten as a potherb). It has pink and purple flowers in minute heads in rounded or flat-topped corymbs.

The sap of the plant is very useful to children with urinary incontinence. On boiling Purple Fleabane yields an essence, which is recognized as a remedy for diarrhea, stomachache, and cough and colic.

It is also known as Sahadevi.
