Pullumedu




Pullumedu is a hill draped in lush greenery, along the Periyar River, in Idukki District of Kerala. Rare flora and fauna, and the sprawling velvet lawns add to the charm of this beauteous spot. The famous Sree Dharmasastha Temple at Sabarimala and the Makara Joythi illuminations at the shrine are visible from here.

The place is part of the restricted forest zone. To visit this place, one should obtain special permission from the Thekkady Wildlife Preservation Officer. Pullumedu is around 43 km from Thekkady and can be reached only by jeep.
