Proso Millet

Proso Millet (Panicum miliaceum) is a warm season grass capable of producing seed in 60 to 90 days after planting. It is one of the most efficient crops for removing moisture from the topsoil, and grows mainly in dry zones in India.

Millet has a shallow rooting system. It is used for livestock and human consumption. In crop rotation, Millet is a cash crop sown every three years in a Wheat-Proso-fallow rotation.
