Prasna Tantra is an ancient text based on the Prasna (horary) system of astrology. This classic work was composed by sage Neelakanta Daivagyna. It forms the basis for astrologers predicting the outcome of a query posed by a person.
The Prasna system is based on the relation between the thought and the pattern of the heavenly bodies at that moment. This is a sort of quick prediction meant only for a particular event or query. The person eager to know the outcome of an event selects a particular number. This number is linked by the astrologer to the current planetary configuration to foretell the future based on the event. This sort of prediction requires strict conformance to the Prasna principles and religious discipline.
Though an ancient text, Prasna Tantra is still a handy text for today’s astrologers. The Prasna system of prediction is more prevalent in Kerala.
