Poornima is the
Sanskrit term for full moon. It is an important day for the Hindus across the sub-continent and abroad. The states celebrate different Poornimas in different names. Most significant among Poornima is the Guru Poornima. Others of this kind are Buddha Poornima, Maghi Poornima,
Narial Poornima and Sharad Poornima.
