Pookulam Waterfalls

Pookulam Waterfalls is a picturesque cataract lying near Kumily in Idukki District. The awesome view of water cascading down the peak is a real feast to the eyes. The fabulous wooded landscapes also make it a charming tourist destination. Nearby is a shallow pool, where a refreshing bath can be had.

The cataract is also popular by the name ‘Pathandivarathu Aruvi’ meaning the aruvi (stream) that carries milk. The clear white waters of the falls resemble milk flowing down the mountain edge; hence the name Pathandivarathu Aruvi.
