Pondicherry Institute of Linguistics and Culture (PILC) is an autonomous research center located on Cinna Subbaraya Pillai Street in
Pondicherry. It was established with an objective of promoting advanced research in linguistics and culture in the area of Pondicherry.
PILC is managed and financially supported by the Government of Pondicherry. Research programs in linguistic studies, ethnographic studies and literary studies are offered. The library houses more than 18,800 research books in Indian and English languages. Subject and scholar oriented seminars and part time courses are conducted.
