Plakkathadam

Plakkathadam is a village located about 6 km away from Peermade in Idukki District. The place is well known for trekking. Plakkathadam is also known for its tribal settlement. The Oorali, Malapandaram and Malayarayan tribes live in the hills of Peermade.

For trekkers, the place can be accessed from Peermade, which is on the way to the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. It is about 35 km from Thekkady and 40 km from Kumily.
