Pistachio (Latin name, Pistacia vera) is a small deciduous tree. The tree has fruits with a grayish white, bony, keeled nutshell. The fruits have light yellow to deep green edible kernels with a reddish coat.
The kernels show digestive, sedative and tonic properties. It also contains melting fatty oil.
It is also known as Mukulaka.
