Phool Bagh

Phool Bagh, built by the Bundelas kings, is a walled complex located at Orchha in Tikamgarh District of Madhya Pradesh. This cool summer retreat is situated next to the Palki Mahal.

Phool Bagh literally means flower garden. Arrayed as a formal garden, it has an eight-pillared palace pavilion and an underground palace. The subterranean structure is connected with Chandan Katora through an ingenious system of water ventilation. Chandan Katora is a bowl-like structure from whose fountains droplet of water filtered through to the roof, like a rainfall.
