Periakanal is one of the tea estates under the Tata Tea Company within Kerala. This 308 hectare tea plantation is located at an elevation of around 5050 ft above sea level, at the eastern end of the high ranges, on the Munnar-Madurai highway. It is the region where high velocity wind is received. This high yielding estate receives an average rainfall of 200 cm.
