Peacock Pansy Butterfly

One of the commonest territorial butterflies in India, Peacock Pansy (Precis almana almana) visits sunny patches during early morning. The insect puts on the face of an Orange-face Owl, when it rests on darker shady areas, to keep predators away. It is fond of flowers of Aztec marigold, lantana and land caltrops.
