Pauri is headquarters of
Pauri Garhwal District and the Garhwal Division of
Uttaranchal. Located at an altitude of 1,814 m, the city offers a panoramic view of snow clad peaks of the
Himalayas. The climate is usually moderate with heavy rainfall during monsoon. Winter is cold while summers are pleasant. Garhwali and
Hindi are the major languages spoken here. The city has some interesting tourist destinations such as Asia's highest stadium at Ransi,
Kandoliya Shiva temple, Kandolia Hill, Kyunkaleshwar Mahadev and Hanuman Mandir.
