Patti Tarang is an Indian version of the Xylophone. The word ‘tarang’ literally means ‘waves’ referring to the notes produced in a rising order. This instrument produces a maximum of 30 musical notes.
Patti Tarang consists of metal plates placed in a wooden box. Each metal produces a distinct musical note when struck by a stick. The metal plates are arranged in an ascending order of notes. The player uses 2 sticks while playing this instrument.
