Patalgarudi

Akashvel, Ulumchulum or Dahidahika

Patalgarudi (Cocculus hirsutus) is a climbing herb grown frequently in uplands, and seldom in planes. It blooms in February or March, and produces green coloured flowers. The roots and leaves are diaphoratic, tonic and diuretic. Patalgarudi is used in skin disorders and fever. A juice extracted from the leaves is given in dysentery.
