Parunthattam

Parunthattam is an ancient ritual folk art prevalent in the erstwhile Central Travancore region of Kerala. Parunthattam literally means the dance of ‘Parunthu’ (eagle). It takes themes from folklores and the idea behind the theme is the victory of the good over the evil. Parayan Chenda is the main musical instruments which accompanies this art form.
