Parashuram Jayanti

Parashuram Jayanti is a festival dedicated to Parashuram, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. In Hinduism, this particular incarnation of the lord is a symbol of obedience, austerity and power. He was born to end the tyranny of the Kshatriya kings. On the day of Parashuram Jayanti, the Hindus observe fast and related austerities. Special worship and offerings are offered to Lord Vishnu.
