The pagoda style of architecture derives its general style from the stupa grave of Buddha. Many famous temples in North India and the Himalayan region follow this type of architecture. The pagoda is constructed using a central wooden pillar support from which the tiered roofing is hung, creating downward pressure on the pillar and providing structural stability. Hidimba Temple, Tripura Sundari Temple, Bijli Mahadev Temple and Triyug Narayan Temple are some of the famous temples in this category.
