Padmaprabha

Padmaprabha is the sixth Tirthankar among the 24 Jain Tirthankars. He was born to Dharanaraja and Suashimadevi on the twelfth day of the dark half of the month of Kartik at Kausambhi.

After a long and successful reign in his kingdom, Padmaprabha became an ascetic and attained salvation at Sammedagiri Mohanakuta. After six months of spiritual practices, on the full moon day of the month of Chaitra he attained enlightenment under a banyan tree.

Padmaprabha had around 111 disciples. He attained Nirvana at Samet Sikhar on the eleventh day of the dark half of the month of Margshirsh. Red Lotus is the emblem of Lord Padmaprabha.
