Padma Puran is an ancient religious text belonging to the
Digambar sect of Jain religion. It was written by a renowned
Sanskrit poet, Acharya Ravishen, during the seventh century AD. The striking point of the manuscript is its reference to the Hindu god,
Lord Ram. The lord is often referred in Jain literature by the name Padma. This text contains religious stories of Lord Ram and the preaching associated with
Jainism.
Padma Puran is part of a collection of religious texts collectively known as Pratham Anuyoga. The whole collection is made up of texts containing religious stories, history and literature.
