Paalvanna Nathar Temple




Paalvanna Nathar Temple is located at Tirukkazhippaalai near Chidambaram in Tamil Nadu. The original ancient temple was washed away by the Kollidam River. The present temple is in the vicinity of the Nelvayil-Sivapuri Temple. It contains inscriptions from the Chola period.

The specialty of the temple is that the Shivlinga, placed beside the images of Lord Shiva and Parvati, is white in color. The temple also houses the shrines of Nataraja, Surya, Chandra, Lord Vishnu, Muruga, Kiraata murthy and Bhairavar. The temple also has a well with white-colored water.
