Ottapalam




Ottapalam is a famous town located about 40 km west of Palakkad. It was a center of the political movement in the erstwhile Malabar province of Madras Presidency.

This town is famous for numerous festivals including Ottapalam Nercha festival held in the Ottappalam mosque, celebrated to memorialize the death of Saint Uthaman Auliya. Chathan Kandar Kavu is another attraction, which has the deity of Durga.

Cochin International Airport is the nearest airport. Ottapalam Railway Station is on the Shoranur-Palakkad line.
