Nut Grass




Nut Grass is a perennial wild plant with dark green glabrous culms, which grows throughout India. The stem originates from a system of underground tubers, which are white and succulent when young, and hard and black when mature.

The tubers possess diaphoretic and astringent activities and anthelmintic, anti-inflammatory, carminative, stomachic, emmenagogue and stimulant properties. It also consists of an essential oil.

It is also known as Musta.
