Neyyappam




One of the varieties of Kerala appam, Neyyappams are deep fried globes made of rice-flour batter. The rice-flour batter, made from a concoction of rice flour, ripe jackfruits, jaggery, and cardamom, are fried in homemade ghee or coconut oil. They are soft, sweet, and fine reddish brown delicacies that has won the heart of every South Indian. Considered to be an all time snack, Neyyappam is a must in all traditional festivals and ceremonial customs of Kerala.
