Naubat Pahad

Naubat Pahad and Kala Pahad are the twin rocky hillocks, seen beside the Hussain Sagar Lake at Hyderabad. Pahad denotes hill and Naubat denotes drum. During Mughal period, official proclamations were announced to the public by beating the drums from the hilltop of Naubat Pahad. On the top of Naubat Pahad is the Birla Planetarium and on the Kala Pahad is the Birla Temple. These hillocks are situated north of the Public Gardens.
