National Institute of Technology, formerly known as Regional Engineering College, is a Deemed University located on the outskirts of
Silchar.
It offers undergraduate courses leading to B Tech degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics and telecommunication engineering and computer science. Post-graduate programs include civil engineering (M Tech in water resources engineering), electrical engineering (M Tech in power and energy systems engineering) and mechanical engineering (M Tech in thermal engineering).
The institute also offers doctoral program leading to Ph D except electronics and telecommunication engineering and humanities. The campus is well equipped with excellent infrastructure facilities. Hostel facilities are available.
