Nartanapureeswarar-Aadal Vallavar Temple

Nartanapureeswarar-Aadal Vallavar Temple is situated at Talaiyalankadu, 8 km to the east of Kodavasal, in Tiruvarur District. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva known by the name Nartanapureeswarar. Goddess Tirumadandaiammai is also worshipped here. Shankh Theertham is the temple tank. There is an interesting story behind the place name Talaiyalankadu. Once Kapila Muni walked on his head to reach this place and worshipped here to obtain the Chintamani gem from Lord Shiva. The annual festival is celebrated in the Tamil month of Thai (mid January - mid February). The temple can be reached from Tiruvarur by traveling 14 km.
