Narmada Shankar

Gujarathi Poet



Narmada Shankar (1833-1886), often referred to as Arun (harbinger of dawn), is a pioneer of modern Gujarati poetry. Mari Hakikat, Rukmini Harana, Vana Varnana, and Virasimha are his major works. Western literary forms and expressions are present in most of his writings.
