Nala Sopara




Nala Sopara is a fast developing town in Thane District of Maharashtra. It forms a part of the Mumbai conurbation, which also includes the metropolitan city of Mumbai, its six sister cities - Thane, Navi Mumbai, Mira-Bhayandar, Kalyan-Dombivali, Ulhasnagar and Bhiwandi-Nizampur - and several other nearby villages.

Nala Sopara was the site of the ancient port of Shurparaka or Sopara, now silted up. It is 10 km north of Vasai and about 56 km from Churchgate. Virar is 4 km north.

Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is the nearest airport. Nala Sopara Railway Station is on the Mumbai suburban rail line of the Western Railways. It is the stop number 27, starting from the Churchgate Railway Station.
