Naksu Matai Puja




Naksu Matai Puja is observed mainly by the Jamatia tribe of Tripura. Naksu Matai is considered as the snake goddess by the tribe.

The goddess is worshipped on the Chaitra Sankranti day, the last day of Chaitra month. The worship is performed by chopping a green bamboo into pieces before a square like symbol assumed as the deity.
