Naggarmutha is a delicate, slender waterside plant with deep brown tubers having aromatic odor, found in West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, eastern and southern parts of India.
The tubers possess astringent, diaphoretic, diuretic, desiccant, cordial and stomachic properties. A decoction of the tuber is taken to wash hair, and treat gonorrhea and syphilis. It is also useful in diarrhea.
