Nada-Brahman

Nada-Brahman is a Sanskrit term, which literally refers to the entire world of sound. It is believed that the Supreme God manifests as sound. The syllable OM is believed to be the first sound ever. Nada-Brahman also means, musical sounds and non-linguistic sounds heard during yogic meditation. Brahman pervades the entire universe, and the human soul is its core according to Indian philosophy. Sacred sound is believed manifested as music. This gives a divine touch to human music. This concept of Nada-Brahman, made possible the Bhakti (devotional) tradition of music.
