Musur Dal with Onions




Musur Dal with onions, a simple dish of the Bengalis, is made using red lentils. The lentils are cooked adding turmeric, ginger, garlic, sugar and salt. This base is added to the saute onions and dry chilies. Red pepper and chopped tomatoes can be added to color the dish. It has medium thick gravy and tastes good with white rice.
