Mumbat Kari is a technique of metal embossing practiced in North India. This technique involves creation of patterns on a base metal using metal wires and pieces of sheets.
Lead is first applied in the shape of the desired pattern onto the base metal. The metal pieces and wires are then laid over the lead. The lead causes an elevation of the designs, creating an impression of embossment.
