Mukhamezhuthu




Mukhamezhuthu, as the name indicates, is a traditional and meticulous way of applying colors on the face. It is a ritual art, and is generally applied for art forms such as Theyyam and Mudiyettu.

Rice powder is used to depict Goddess Kali's face and green paste is applied for art forms such as Kalankolam and Gandharvan Kolam. Mukhamezhuthu in Theyyam differs according to its various forms.
