Morena District is situated in the northern part of
Madhya Pradesh. It lies in the Chambal valley. It has an area of 5000 sq km with a population of 1.3 million. The
Chambal, Kunwari, Asan and Sank are the major rivers.
Sihoniya (the capital of the Kachwahas), Pahargarh (cave paintings in the cave shelters), Mitawali, Nurabad (the monuments of Mughal Period), the Fort of Sabalgarh and National Chambal Sanctuary are some of the tourist destinations. Morena has archeological museums and galleries.
