Mohammad Azharuddin

Indian cricketer



Born on February 8, 1963, Mohammad Azizuddin Azharuddin was a middle-order batsman and former captain of the Indian cricket team during the late 1980s and early 1990s. He started his career in the 1984-85 season against England at Kolkata and set a world record by scoring centuries in each of his first three tests.

Some of the honors received by him are Indian Cricketer of the Year for 1985, Padmashree in 1987, Arjuna Award in 1987, and was one of the Wisden's five cricketers of the year 1990.
