Mistletoe




Mistletoe (Viscum album) is a semi-parasitic plant that grows on several tree species including oak, pine, fir, elm and apple. The portion of the plant used as medicine is the leaf.

It is used as tonic, emetic and purgative. Mistleto is prescribed as a remedy for hernia. European species of Mistletoe is reported to cure cancer. Other Indian names are Banda, Hurchu and Rini.
